Application

What about health insurance?

One of the requirements for the visa application is an health insurance, please refer to the local Italian Embassy/Consulate in order to ask for details about this point.

Which documents are needed upon application?

In order to take part to the selection to be admitted in the Master, candidates are required to send us the following documents. You may also visit the application details page filed in the how to apply section.

  • Application form;
  • Motivation letter;
  • Portfolio (not mandatory for candidates not having a background in Design or Architecture);
  • A copy of the student’s identity document;
  • Copy of the academic certificate plus to certificate detailing the marks obtained for each examination, or the Diploma Supplement;
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae.

How does the admission exam take place?

You will be informed about the entry exam date by email and on that date and time it will be sent to you. Once they receive the entry exam form, candidates will have 48 hours to reply to the questions and to send back their answers by email.

Bureaucracy

What is the Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco?

In case a candidate will officially pass the selection and will decide to get enrolled in the Master, one of the mandatory documents required for the enrolment is the Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco (Declaration of Value) that should be provided to you by the Italian Embassy/Consulate in the country in which you got your degree. As a general rule, in order to provide the Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco, the Italian Embassy/Consulate needs some original legalized documents, and the translation of them in Italian. As a consequence, candidates are suggested to start checking the official information connected with the Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco issuing on the Italian Embassy/Consulate website as soon as possible.

How can I get my Tax Id Card?

A codice fiscale (Tax Id) is an alphanumeric code of 16 characters issued for free by the Ministry of Finance to uniquely identify citizens. Candidates will need to have it in order to be enrolled in the master. Candidates can apply for it when they arrive in Italy by  addressing to the Agenzia Delle Entrate office that is in charge for the area in which they live.

What about the residence permit?

After having arrived to Italy Non-EU candidates will have to complete a so-called “kit” to apply for a residence permit. The kit is available at all the post offices bearing a “Sportello Amico” sign and it must be submitted within 8 days of from the arrival in Italy.

Where can I get help to find hospitality?

Politecnico di Milano has some residences and they are available for students who have enrolled or will enrol in Specialising Masters,  in order to have information you may visit the official website.
